What I Learned About Myself (MBTI)
When I got back my results for the MBTI survey that I took, I found out that my personality type was ENFP. As I first looked at this letter combination, I had no idea what it meant or what it stood for, but as soon as I knew what each letter stood for and meant, I learned a lot about myself.
The E stands for Extraversion which tells me where I focus my attention. I focus a lot of my attention on the outer world, and that is where I get my energy from. This is true about me, because I am not the kind of person who likes to be alone. I always enjoy people coming into my room and talking with me. This kind of goes with my homework too. I find it easier when I am studying or doing homework with a group instead of doing it all by myself.
The next letter stands for the way that I take in information. I am an N which means Intuition. This letter kind of surprised me a little bit because I thought that I take in information by facts, but I guess the survey tells me that I take in information through the big picture and meaning. I guess that this is pretty true also because I do find it a little easier.
The F is the next letter in my type, and it stands for Feeling. This is the way that I make decisions. This is also very true about me because when a situation comes up, I usually just make a decision on how I am feeling at that time. I think about how my decision reflects myself and others, and I don’t really think about the logic towards it. I don’t think twice about too many things. When I make a decision I just go with it, and trust that it will work without any concerns or problems.
For the last letter of my personality type, I am a P which stands for Perceiving. This letter tells me how I deal with the world. Perceiving means that I am very flexible about how things work. This is very true about me because I am not afraid to do anything spur of the moment. For some reason I work a lot better when I am under pressure. I know that it is probably not the best to do everything last minute, but that is just the way that I do thing. However, I think that I am a little of both sides because I am also very organized with some things that I do.
Once again, my personality type is ENFP, and according to MBTI I am warmly enthusiastic. It says that I am imaginative, individualistic, seek to understand, and inspire others. I think that this is true about me and it relates to my goals really well. It especially relates to my goal about finishing all my Grandpa’s projects. A lot of my goals focus on people and the outer world, the big picture and future possibilities, and are very flexible. I am not afraid to make new people, I am creative, and I will never turn down an opportunity.
With my results, I was sort of on the fence with one of my letters. In designating us a letter in the code, the test tells us which one we are more likely to be. So you are just more of one than another. I feel the same way with my own results (about how you feel you are more of the trait that they didn't give you.)
ReplyDeleteKorey, we had a lot of the same personality types, and I agree on making a decision with feeling because I also don't think twice about many of my decisions and I find it better at times to not over think things. It's awesome you're so determined on finishing your grandpa's projects and I think an important part of life is to not be afraid to meet new people and take any opportunity that arises so I'm sure you'll be very accomplished in life!
ReplyDeleteOur letters were just one off, as I was ENFJ, and I agree with how you were surprised that you intuition. I also thought that I look at things in a more factual way, but then I thought about it, and I don't actualy. I also am similar to you in the F category, because I never think twice about doing things. Once I have an idea in my head it's really hard to change my mind, which is probably a bad thing for us F's!
ReplyDeleteENFP just like me! Just like you, my goals center a lot around people and the outer world and am also very flexible. This will be a wonderful skill to hold on to throughout college. It will really come in handy!
